ABOUT US

The Mexican Village, Mexican food restaurant near Silver Lake, Los Angeles, is a family run business headed by Abel Olivares Jr. and his sisters, Diana & Blanca. It was started by Abel Sr. in 1965. He has always been very ambitious and in pursuit of the American dream of free enterprise. He began his career with a small fast food business and worked evenings at five star restaurants. In 1965 he acquired his own restaurant, The Mexican Village.

The Mexican Village Restaurant has created a warm and comfortable Spanish atmosphere. Quality and service is our #1 priority.

OUR CUISINE.

The Mexican Village Restaurant menu comes from generations of family recipes handed down throughout the years by Abel Sr. and Dona Maria. These tasty mouthwatering dishes are a combination of Mom’s, Tia’s, Tio’s and Chef’s that truly create a traditional Mexican cuisine. Our Chef Jesus Rivero is from Mexico City. Rivero’s talented creations translate a memorable experience. We also offer Poblano Moles for your palette and enjoyment prepared by Miguel Angel, a native of Puebla, Mexico.
